Using SUMMER GLEESON as blonde stand-in for Vicki Vale HERE only shows how so much BETTER she was in Night of the Ninja, livelier, more attractively attired, than Kim Basinger, dull, dim, looked like an unmade bed, hair and clothes, much of it, HARD to see what the Joker SAW in her. Apartment scene made absolutely NO sense-- WHY didn't the Joker KIDNAP her? Letting her be blonde ruined redhead image of Vicki hasn't recovered. She just got the part when Sean Young days before filming began fell of horse, never been on one, practicing for scene riding with Bruce, BROKE HER ARM--it was NOT filmed in end. Vicki was written OUT of the next movie, hasn't been in one SINCE. The actress in the 1949 rock BELOW BOTTOM budget serial was about the best Vicki, not saying MUCH, a least tart-tongued, aggressive, headstrong, red-head real life, if more frumpish than stylish, sometimes struggling with lines on screen producer notorious no retakes cheapskate. She was agonizingly anorexic in ONLY animated lead Batman Versus Dracula (2003, see HER party scene with Summer's in Heart of Ice for NO possible comparison), looked drained even BEFORE meeting The Count--he was ONLY interested in her to raise his dead wife. Vicki--at least someone CALLED that--is hard faced, hair cut with garden shears, HORROR, too short-skirt SHAME in the Arkham Asylum programs. Her best appearance, as in APPEARING, about three minutes of walk-ons like her 1950s self in Batman The Brave and the Bold (2008-2011) at least getting scene Summer never did, tied to target with Batman by the Joker.
